    To come up with this cover art, the Eagles decided they needed some help. Kosh, who previously directed the beetles, which was a huge sensation at this time, stepped in to help get started. The inspiration came from the idea that you can check out but can never truly leave Hotel California. Choosing the hotel was the easy part because an iconic hotel would easily represent the song. Standing in a cherry picker with photographer David Alexander to capture the hotel, several shots were taken to capture the exact moment the sun would set behind the hotel. The photo taken would forever spread the word to the world what the Beverly Hills hotel looked like in California. Those who have never been to California would know this hotel from this song and its iconic album cover.

The album cover itself was a journey to create. The decision of the hotel was easy because of how iconic the place was and what better to explain the story than a hotel in Beverly Hills.
